We’re pleased to share an update on ReZone + ReDesign Stouffville, the Town’s project to rewrite our Town-wide Zoning By-law and Urban Design Guidelines. As part of the first phase of this project, we are advancing two Housing Accelerator Fund (HAF) initiatives aimed at creating more housing options in our community:
Parking Standards for Medium & High-Density Housing: We’re reviewing parking requirements—especially along Main Street—to better support future medium- and high-density development.
Expanding Missing Middle Housing: We’re exploring where up to four units per property could be permitted and how to introduce more diverse housing types such as multiplexes, low-rise apartments, and other multi-unit homes in our community..
Before the Statutory Public Meeting on March 11 at 7pm in the Town Council Chambers, where staff will present the first draft of the zoning by-law amendment related to these two initiatives for feedback, we are seeking additional community input to help inform the by-law.
